Writing in Active Voice

In active voice, the subject is performing the action.

Example:  The Corsica Comets won the track meet.

                    Not   The track meet was won by the Corsica Comets.

  Why use active voice?

                Sentence is shorter and more concise.

Change the following sentences to active voice.

1. First placed was earned by Leah Johnson.

2. Rain was predicted in the forecast.

3. The tree branches were twisted by the strong wind.

4. The outstanding actress award was given to Heidi Larson.
