Students will ask questions of Kaye concerning The Legend and learn about the life of a singer/composer.

Standards Based Goal
Students learn about the life and values of another culture and compare it with their own.  Students learn about "worthwhileness" of others and realize "they can do it too."

Student Objectives
Students will learn what it takes to sing, write, play a song.
Students will sing a new song, Spirit of Dakota.
Students will write another verse for Spirit of Dakota.

Kaye is introduced as role is called by class asking a question.

Kaye discusses song and leads a group in singing the song.  Students will have listened to the song several times before hand.

Students questions about how she came to write the song, questions content.

Kaye teaches more of song, continues her presentation.

Kaye/student's good-bye

Discuss plant drawings and remind about Ivan Loesch and questions for him in the 7th lesson. Students should email questions.  

Use VTEL and back with net meeting.

All sites should have worksheets relating to Unit to be used if all else fails.
