- How
many children did Drifting Goose have from you and what became of them?
There were 5
but one
died. Lena
Drifting Goose was our first
child and
she is now living (at the time of this writing).
She is about 50 years old and is the wife of
Seeking
Land
.
Our next
child was
a boy named Rabbit. He died long ago
but I cannot remember how lone. Rabbit
married a Crow Creek woman named White Day and from her had only one child and
that was a boy named First Grown. Rabbit
died and then First Grown died. White
Day is living here now. Rabbit and
First Grown died before Drifting Goose died.
Our next
child was
a boy named Joseph Strong Blanket and he is living now.
He is about 40 years old. Our
other child
was a boy named Frank Drifting Goose or Gregory Turner.
He is living now and is about 39 years old.
- How
many children did Drifting Goose have from Wakanuwintswin, and what became
of them?
There were
several of them but all of them died before Drifting Goose died.
All of those children died when they were small and none of them ever
married or had a child.
- Who
were the parents of Drifting Goose?
His father
was named Wounded. I do not remember
the name of his mother.
- Did
Rabbit live on his own allotment during his life time and immediately
preceding his death?
No.
He died on the Flat here at Eagle Dog’s allotment.
- Are
you sure that White Day was the wife of Rabbit when Rabbit died?
She was not
his wife when he died. They had
separated by Indian custom before Rabbit died.
I took their child First Grown and took care of him until he died.
First Grown was in school just before he died.
- Did
the child of Cloud and Yellow Hair die before or after Drifting Goose died?
Was that child ever married and did he ever have a child born to him?
He died
before Drifting Goose died. He was
small when he died and never married nor had a child born to him.
- Have
you ever heard any person other than yourself and your children claim any
interest in the estate of Drifting Goose and Rabbit?
I never heard
of anyone.
- You
have said that Rabbit died, and then his son First Grown died and that the
mother of First Grown (White Day) is still living.
If that is true would not White Day inherit the estate of Rabbit?
I do not
know?
