Chamber Mural Committee's Goal
The Huron Chamber Mural Committee plans to do at least 10 vignettes the summer
of 2003. According to Phebejean Mills, they
will be smaller so smaller
spaces will be needed.
According to Ms. Mills this year seemed to be right to do some fun whimsical vignettes such as the man reading the newspaper on the mural at Third Street and Kansas Avenue S.E.
She said other ideas that work well are bank robberies, a child with a dog, a small child pulling a wagon, some flowers in planters, bicycle leaning against something, a cat in a window, a quartet singing, or a horse with its head out the barn door, to mention just a few.
The vignettes can run in price from $100 to $800, depending on size and detail.

The murals portray a variety of recreational activities and sports that take place during the four seasons of spring, summer, fall and winter. The murals also portray individuals of cultural diversity as well as some locals. These murals were sponsored by the Community Improvement Commission.
