Oldest Carnegie Library

The Redfield Carnegie Library observed its 100th anniversary October 2002.  A $10,00 Carnegie grant was awarded the town in 1902 to get the library going.  The money enabled Redfield to erect a majestic red brick library with tan sandstone foundation and sills.  The architect crowed his building with a domed cupola.  The interior was designed with oak columns and woodwork.

It has the distinction of being the oldest Carnegie in continuous use as a library in the state.

It is something worth visiting often.
